I've sat down to blog I don't know how many times since I last posted. However, right about that time was when one or both boys started screaming. So, I'm going to make this to the point while I've got a spare minute and update everyone on the craziness that is my life. Since last time:
- Dallin got his helmet and has been doing great with it. We only have about a month left until he gets done, which will be good. I really wanted to get him out of it before it really
warms up. I can't imagine trying to have him in that during the summer. I'm so glad we did it though. It's really made a difference and at least I know he won't ask me 15 years down the road, "Mom, everyone makes fun of my head. Why didn't we get it fixed?" It's also been nice as he's gotten to the "Into-everything" stage and saved him many many bonks. I can't recommend the helmet and Dr. Bob here in Houston highly enough. There's only two guys in Texas who do the Doc-bands. Bob, here in Houston, and his associate up in Dallas.
- Tom got a work assignment offer in the United Arab Emerites back in December. The catch is that it's for HIM. Meaning, we're not going. Honestly, I wouldn't want to have me and the boys in those paticular living circumstances. They're going to be in a camp with about 15,000 other men. No women allowed. They'll be living in small trailers and working 60 hour weeks. It'll really give him a huge step forward in his career, though. It really is an opportunity to move forward and grow, even though it'll be hard. Some days I feel braver than others, but I know that it's a blessing that will work for our good if we let it. Tom ships out on April 7th and will come home for two weeks halfway through. Yikes.
- Tom and I got to go to San Antonio for some R&R while my parents took the boys for a few days. It was soooo nice! We stayed at the Emily Morgan (four stars, baby!), slept until we woke up for two days in a row, did some touristy things I'd never done before (river tour, Alamo tour, etc.), and went to Fiesta Texas. So fun!!!
- Dallin had his first birthday, which ended up being pretty anti-climactic, as both boys were up crying for the better part of the night before. We went to Dallin's one-year checkup, only to find out that both kids had strep throat. Dallin was still able to get his shots, though. So, no sleep, five shots, blood test and strep throat. Happy stinking birthday, kid.
- Logan is enrolled in pre-school for the fall. Now all I have to do is get him potty trained. Hopefully, that'll go well.
- Um... Off hand I can't think of much else that's going on. Here's a few more pictures for fun!
Logan and Grr-grr. Think Calvin and Hobbes. That's their relationship.
Logan and his friend, the goat. This was his favorite part of going to the zoo.
Alright. I can hear someone starting to yell, so I'd better run. Until next time!
